Brent Sykora

     Brent Sykora is an associate attorney with the Gilbreath Firm in San Antonio.  He is married to the former Lindsay Baldwin, who was raised in San Antonio.  Brent was born in Waco, Texas and grew up in nearby Lorena where he graduated from Lorena High School in 1993.  Brent attended McLennan Community College and Baylor University  where he graduated cum laude (B.A. 1997).  After marrying Lindsay in 2001, Brent moved to Lubbock, Texas to study law at the Texas Tech University School of Law (J.D. 2004). 

Before attending law school, Brent worked for various corporations including Dell Computer Corp. and Raytheon Corp.  While in law school, Brent clerked under Justice Brian J. Quinn of the 7^th Court of Appeals of Texas in Amarillo, Texas.  He also worked as a student attorney under Professor Marilyn E. Phelan with the Texas Tech University School of Law Tax Clinic.  Prior to becoming an associate attorney with the Gilbreath Firm, Brent worked as a law clerk for Joe Gilbreath in San Antonio. 

Brent has experience working with several legal interests including employment law, real estate law, tax law, medical malpractice, criminal law, and water law.  In 2003, he completed A Study of Texas Water Policy in the Edward’s Aquifer Region of Texas, an academic research project under the assistance of Professor Gabriel Eckstein, Professor of Water Law at Texas Tech University and advisor to the U.N. Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization and Ambassador Chusei Yamada of the U.N. International Law Commission.

 Brent is currently licensed to practice in all Texas State Courts and is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the San Antonio Bar Association.
